Life is {8 weeks}

A day late and a dollar short...I'm actually 8 weeks and 1 day today, but better late than never, right??  I'm going to post a picture on here just so you can see the ridiculous amount of bloat I have right now:

There is no way that I am actually showing right now because my uterus has not yet moved in front of my pelvic bone.  What you're seeing over there is a HUGE, INSANE amount of pure bloat.  Don't worry, I wore a sweater over this so as not to set off any alarms at work, although people just probably think I look "fluffy" and not pregnant...

A lot has happened this week!  We went back yesterday for a second ultrasound, and once again - the baby is perfect!  S/he was measuring 7w5d (7 weeks, 5 days) but the Dr. said that didn't mean anything; being even 1mm off in the measurement could mean the difference of a day or two.  He said the babe was progressing wonderfully and had DOUBLED in size since last week!  S/he had a strong heartbeat of 167bpm.  Look at the difference in the ultrasound pictures....the kid is growing up so fast!

Baby size:  Baby F  is about the size of a kidney bean.  S/he has webbed fingers and toes and its eyelids are practically covering its eyes.  Its tail is just about gone by now and its about to start receiving nutrients from the umbilical cord!  S/he is also developing "primitive neural pathways", a.k.a: the kid is developing the brain parts that will make him/her a genius.

How far along: 8 weeks

Total weight gain: No clue, but I feel big as a house!

Sleep: The dreams are still out of control crazy, but I've been getting about 8-10 good hours of sleep a night!

Maternity Clothes: Still super bloated, so I caved one day and wore maternity jeans.  They felt great.  I'm not going to sit around all day miserable because it's "too early" for maternity clothes.  That's lame.

Food cravings : None

Food aversions: Nothing tastes good right now.  In my 8th week, I have developed slight nausea and all around yuckiness.

Symptoms:  I am still very fatigued, but if I get a good night's sleep, that usually helps.  As I said above, just as I thought I was out of the woods with zero morning sickness, I was plagued with nausea at 7w6d.  I've battled with nausea off and on for the past two days.  No throwing up, but it's no fun.  My Dr. prescribed Zorfran and I took one this morning.  It definitely helped!  I'm not one to take drugs to make the problem go away, but sitting around feeling like you could vom at any minute is no fun, so I took the meds.  I can't imagine being sick every day like some of my other pregnant friends.

Exercise:  Hah!  Yeah right!  Actually, the doctor said to hold off until second trimester, to which I completely agreed and shall comply ;)

Movement: No way - too early!

Gender: TEAM GREEN!

Best moment of the week:  Seeing the baby on the screen and hearing the heartbeat....again.  Les and I love hearing the baby's heartbeat.  We are thinking about getting a Doppler so that we can listen whenever we want!  I got released from the special doctor back to my regular OB and I see her on November 30.  Unfortunately, we will not get to see the baby again until I'm 20 weeks!  That's 12 weeks away - an eternity!!!!!!!!

What I'm looking forward to:  I can't wait until Thanksgiving break - 5 whole days off!  We're telling the rest of Les' family about the baby and I am excited for them to know.  We're actually telling Nana and Papa on Monday.  This will be their 4th great-grandchild!  They are such wonderful people and I know they will be so happy for us.  Les wanted to tell them before we told the rest of the family, so they're finding out Monday and the rest of the family will know Thursday.

It's getting harder and harder not to tell people.  We are going to wait until I'm almost 12 weeks to tell "the world".  It's less than a month away, so I think we can do it!

PS - Obviously, I am not doing the "Giving Thanks" posts anymore!  That's just too much to keep up with.  I am, however, extremely grateful for everything/one in my life.  <3
